Earth Worms, the Lumbricus Terrestris

There have been many studies and theories of why and how the earth's land mass is slowly depleting. Some say the land is sinking, others blame global warming. I have been researching all these theories and ideas, and I have found the answer. If anyone has seen the classic movie, Tremors, starring the wonderful actor Kevin Bacon, then you are familiar with these underground eating monsters! Haha, although those creatures could have never existed, it's fun to think about them. I am, however, talking about a smaller similar version, the lumbricus terrestris, commonly known as the earth worm. For the past 13 years I have caught, captured, and studied these worms and to my multiple discoveries, have found that after time the earth worm can eat up 700 times its weight in day! What does that mean? Well its simple, the worms are eating the earths land mass thus making the worms grow and the land shrink. For each year of the 13 million years the earth has been in rotation, a worm will eat approximately .5 centimeters of the earth and grows .7 centimeters in length. Do that math and you will find that means inches, feet, and miles of the earths land has been eaten by these ever growing animals. The earth gets smaller and the worms get bigger, but don't worry worms are relatively harmless. Actually, all of the earths phenomenon’s can be traced back to the earthworms. For example with earthquakes; the cause is the larger worms are searching for more land to devour and are just moving at a more rapid pace causing the earth to shift from its natural state. To my calculations if we do not somehow put a stop to this, then the earth land will be covered in water by 2013. However, being that earthworms cannot swim or float, they will simply just drown, and that is good news! Being that these worms will no longer be alive to consume any more land, they will in turn decay and turn into what they ate...land. You are what you eat has a whole new meaning, and once again science wins.
